Luxega enters the luminaire market
Luxega is preparing to enter the street lighting luminaire market with the launch of its first complete street light, the LX10. This marks a new step for the company. With LX10, Luxega brings our experience into a full luminaire designed for new installations and projects where retrofit is not the right option.
The LX10 has been developed in 2025 with one clear goal: to deliver a reliable, compliant street light at a price point that changes how municipalities and contractors look at new installations. With the LX10, Luxega breaks the EUR 90 price barrier, offering a street light in this category while still meeting European road lighting requirements.
Despite the competitive price, LX10 is designed for use on all road types across Europe. The luminaire is equipped with LEDIL optics, ensuring correct light distribution and compliance with European road standards. A Philips Dynadimmer driver is included as standard, allowing night dimming and flexible control of light levels. For durability and long-term reliability, the LX10 is also supplied with 20 kV surge protection.
Luxega expects the basic configuration of the LX10 to operate with a relatively low margin. This is a conscious decision. The company believes that lowering the entry price will open the market and make it easier for municipalities to choose modern, efficient LED street lighting without compromising on safety or compliance.
At the same time, the LX10 is designed as a flexible platform. The luminaire can be delivered with a Zhaga base, making it ready for smart city solutions. Optional add-ons include IoT nodes, sensors, and smart control systems. Luxega also offers advanced sensor solutions with automatic detection and data transfer via closed mesh networks, supporting future-ready lighting infrastructure.
The LX10 is only the beginning. Later this year, Luxega will introduce two additional street lighting designs, both with a clear Nordic design language. These upcoming luminaires are developed with the same focus on quality, compliance, and flexibility, but with distinct aesthetics aimed at urban and architectural environments.
With the launch of the LX10, Luxega expands its portfolio from retrofit solutions to complete street lighting systems. The company sees this as a natural extension of its work with municipalities and infrastructure owners across Europe.
“We have spent years working with street lighting from the inside out,” says Rune Søgaard Larsen, Founder of Luxega. “Now we are ready to bring a complete luminaire to the market. LX10 is built to be simple, compliant, and affordable, while still offering the options many cities ask for.”
The LX10 will be available in February 2026, with first deliveries planned early Q2 2026. Luxega looks forward to presenting the luminaire to municipalities, contractors, and partners—and to introducing the next generation of street lighting designs later this year.
